That’s right it is June already, which only means one thing…it is National DJ Month! What kind of people would we be if we didn’t give you our top DJ events and nights out this month?

Jay Hardway – The Ministry of sound (Sunday 10th June)

It wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t start this off with one of the classics. The Ministry of Sound has been a weekend destination for London’s biggest party animals for generations now; and shows no signs of letting its dancing feet off the gas anytime soon; especially with Jay Hardway being one of the resident DJs. Dropping the hottest tracks from a variety of genres from Hip Hop, Garage, and House, to his epic Electronic DJ set. Jay Hardway will make sure your summer anthems do not go unnoticed.

Junction 2 Day Festival (Saturday 9th June)

Not necessarily a night out but a big event nonetheless, Junction 2 has a rather simple ethos. Dress in your best festival attire, mentally and physically prepare yourself for body shaking sounds, take in the crème de la crème visual Productions on show and do not turn up if you’re looking for anything other than electronic music. Everyone is in the same boat with there being no VIP tickets, hierarchy does not exist, so practise your best finger skanking routines as you will be amongst like-minded people. If that does not entice you enough then maybe the likes of Carl Cox, Adam Beyer and Nina Kraviz to name a few, will draw you to the festival. It really is clustered with too many great DJs to single out one.

Nimmo – The Prince of Wales (Saturday 9th June)

With the sun showing signs that we may be in for a half decent summer this year (we hope) what better way to start your weekend than on a rooftop bar, dressed up like you’re back in the 90’s until the early hours of the morning. No, we have not discovered time travel, we have however been to one of DJ Nimmo’s themed events at The Prince of Wales. The Midsummer Rooftop Party will be buzzing with a rooftop and club room, both fully equipped with a bar, as well as karaoke on hand for all the Adele wannabes. Sick of your standard G&Ts? Check out the Rumshack & Cocktail Bar! Pop up to the Rooftop Burger Shack! They honestly have it all. Still not sold? You will just have to let DJ Nimmo do his thing and show you exactly why he is such hot property.

Norman Jay – Jazz Café (23rd June)

You have never heard of Norman Jay? Impossible! Whether it be unknowingly pumping his BBC Radio sets in the car or regularly visiting The Good Times Stage at Notting hill Carnival to see him live in action, there is no way you have not at least subconsciously heard of the Anthem-provider that is Norman Jay. Our royal Highness herself has recognised Norman as a bonafide patriot to soul and funk, presenting him with an MBE for his work. Unfortunately, Norman no longer plays on the Good Times stage at Notting Hill Carnival but lucky for us he is playing at the Jazz Café on the 23rd June. Missing out on a genius at work is something you should never do, so do not start now and let Norman Jay (MBE) release your inner funk.
